What Clare Vivier bag is currently in your wardrobe rotation?
I’m IN LOVE with my electric-blue suede tote. I get compliments for days — no one can resist the color or the texture, especially me! But I also have a cement-colored hobothat sees a lot of action.
What is your favorite style of Clare Vivier Bag?
I love my tote for everyday: it easily fits my computer — which is always with me, a sweater, and all my usual lady-stuff. But when I travel, I use the hobo — because I can wear it cross-body for long walks through my favorite cities!
Empty that bag. What’s inside?
My Macbook Air — a lifechanging machine for me. You can carry it all day without tiring! Tortoiseshell Ray Ban sunglasses. Turquoise Commes Des Garcons wallet. Random pieces of paper — usually with an idea scrawled on them somewhere. Motorola Razr phone — because I can’t live without Swype. Car key. Pink Pilot Precise V5 pen — my go-to writing instrument. A bottle of YSL La Laque Couture in 18, a showstopping blue, just like my Clare Vivier tote! Chanel Coco Mademoiselle purse spray — my signature scent for years now, and an instant mood-lifter. And finally, my favorite See by Chloe top — it’s half-shirt and half-jacket, perfect for throwing on when the air conditioning gets to be too much for me.
What is your favorite thing about your job?
Helping women get insight into their love lives — then watching them attract a great relationship, commit to someone, and start families! A woman I’ve been chatting with for years just called me last night to say she’s engaged. I couldn’t be more thrilled for her!
Where is your favorite place in Los Angeles to grab a bite?
Viet Noodle in Atwater Village.
If you could hop on a plane tomorrow and go anywhere, where would you go?
I’m a travel fiend. Can it be a round-the-world ticket? I’d start in Paris — my true love — then hit Berlin, Stockholm, Prague, Croatia, Morocco, Tanzania, Rio de Janeiro, Buenos Aires, Patagonia, Istanbul, and finally, a quick swing through Southeast Asia. And that’s narrowing it down! There’s a whole world out there, and though I’ve traveled a lot, I’ve really hardly made a dent.
What would your perfect weekend consist of?
Coffee, writing, hanging with friends, reading the New York Times online, going for a hike, taking my 15-year-old son to the Arclight for a movie, eating a good meal, visiting a museum, a nap, and probably writing some more. I’m one of those people who loves what she does so much I don’t even consider it “work”.
If you could tell your 22-year-old self one thing it would be….
Life is going to be everything you ever imagined it would be. Work your ass off, believe in yourself and don’t be afraid to make mistakes. Be more you!
What is your ultimate guilty pleasure?
House Hunters International on HGTV. It combines three of my most enduring obsessions: travel, real estate, and watching couples in relationships!
What do you do to unwind when you are not working?
The joke answer is that when I want to unwind from my job, I do one of my other jobs! But a better answer would be: I nap! I’m one of those people who naps as often as possible — anywhere from 12-minute power naps to 60 minute siestas. It’s like a palate-cleanser for your brain! And I swear it keeps me young.
What is one blog you can’t stop reading?
I read the New York Times online cover-to-cover pretty much every day. I’m also a regular at Curbed LA. But that’s not what you want to know, is it? You want to know that I feel terrible about how much I like Dlisted.com! Okay, fine. Michael K is one of the funniest writers out there. I mean, if you’re into raunchy, irreverent, celebrity blogging. Which, for better or for worse, I am.
Sweet or savory?
Actually, my real passion is tangy! A combination of sweet and sour.
