What’s In My Clare Vivier Bag:
Tran Nguyen is the web store manager for Clare Vivier. She loves flea markets, thrift stores, and making chili. When she needs to escape from LA she heads to the desert with a book in her hand and a glass of milk always in reach.
What Clare Vivier bag is currently in your wardrobe rotation?
Black mini sac, all day everyday.
What is your favorite style of Clare Vivier Bag?
Wish I could say. 3 bags minimum is my motto. I carry a bunch of small bags with varying degrees of priorities and purposes and stick them all into a fabric bag, which NEEDS to be replaced by the AZUL Messenger now. But I am Mini Sac’s biggest fan. I want them in all colors and they hold so much. It is the clown car of leather bags.
Empty that bag. What’s inside?
Mini Sac: polka dot wallet, coin pouch that looks JUST like a cookie [have to give Greta credit for finding this at some kids store in Larchmont], keys, Dr. Pepper Lip Smackers, phone, camera, leopard pochette, matches, pens, pepper spray, lighters
Pochette: cash, bobby pins, barrettes, random receipts, notes, and subway coupons [I know..]
Spotted Flat Clutch – Red moleskin, random but important papers I never want to sort through, majorly stylish Ziploc bag with random toiletry essentials, albuterol, Ksubi sunnies and reading material.
What is your favorite thing about your job?
Without trying to sound hackneyed: working with the greatest group of girls [& boy] ever.
Where is your favorite place in Los Angeles to grab a drink?
Don’t know if I can commit to saying they’re my favorites, but somehow I’m always at 1642 or El Conquistador in Silverlake.
What are your top three favorite stores in Los Angeles to shop?
A thrift store in the valley called “THRIFT STORE”, Scout on Cherokee, Mohawk General Store and of course CLARE VIVIER
If you could hop on a plane tomorrow and go anywhere, where would you go?
What would your perfect weekend consist of?
In the desert with a hula-hoop and stars in the sky OR a weekend where I can commit to re‒watching every season of Northern Exposure.
If you could tell your 22-year-old self one thing it would be….
DON’T sell that Andres Courreges sweater at Wasteland, you’re going to regret it and think about it ALL the time.
What is your ultimate guilty pleasure?
I wish this made me feel guilty, but you could not peel me away from watching Law & Order: SVU and some other crime drama shows that will remain anonymous.
What are you most looking forward to this summer?
Hopeful trip to Marfa, TX or Wyoming to go chase frogs with my childhood best friend who lives there studying frogs. I have my doubts that this will happen, so I’m looking forward to endless picnics at the Old Zoo in Griffith Park.
What do you do to unwind when you are not working?
I like to dig through the grimiest piles of clothes at thrift stores, flea markets, & rag houses or clean the refrigerator.
You would not expect it but I….
drink an abnormal amount of milk.
What song is currently your jam?
The remix to Ignition is ALWAYS my jam.
Sweet or savory?
I’m an equal opportunity food enthusiast.
Where do you do the best online shopping damage?
Shopbop. The Bay [eBay].
